Dr. Anindya Chanda's Integrative mycology laboratory (IML) is located in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences (ENHS) within the Arnold School of Public Health. The laboratory's focus is on research and education related to mold behaviors that are relevant to human health, agriculture and the environment. IML's research projects are broadly categorized into two domains. The goal of the first research domain (the ‘basic science’ domain) is to understand how fungal cells function in presence of different environmental variables. The second research domain (the ‘translational research’ domain) includes the laboratory's health and disease targeted research projects that are collectively helping understand how fungi and their biotic partners in different host ecosystems contribute to their overall health.
